Submitted Consent Status

Submitted Consent Status

Submitted: This status immediately shows on the Associated Educator page when a new consent form is signed and submitted through an Educator's I-LEAD account. The "Submitted Date" indicates when the educator last submitted the consent form. The "Submitted" status stays until the state is finished processing the background checks.

Processing can take approximately 14 business days (excluding holidays and weekends) but can take longer if the educator:

  • Has moved to Indiana from another state. (Please reach out to outofstatechecks@fssa.in.gov if this is the case. The educator must submit paperwork giving licensing permission to check on background information from other states.)
  • Had a recent name change.
  • Has a name identical to someone else in the system.
  • Is new to working in a child care setting and this is their first background check.

Educators will see "Current consent form expires on [next expiration date]" on their I-LEAD account dashboards if the consent form is successfully submitted. Since fingerprints are a required field on the consent form, it will also say "Current fingerprints expire on [next expiration date.]"

Educators can click View Consent Form on their I-LEAD Dashboard to view their fingerprint expiration date. Provider admins can click View Details next to the educator on their license’s Associated Educator roster to view an educator’s fingerprint expiration date. Consent forms are due on the fingerprint expiration date.
